Jon+Mariah

Last year I received an inquiry from Jon about wedding photography, got on a phone call and met his future wife Mariah. They are such a sweet couple and instantly made me smile, especially finding out that their wedding day was in February. (which many of you don't know, their date was just after my birthday)

Engagement session

After we talked and they picked out their wedding day coverage, we started discussing their wants for an engagement photo session.

In our communication Jon said, "Let's do it on my family property, its by the river." I get excited about things like this. My favorite place to photograph is at a place that is meaningful to my client. When you photograph outside, you have to be flexible, there was a storm warning all day and it worked in our favor with the beautiful skies we got to work with.

I want your photos to be 100% you. Mariah's mom could not stop gushing how their photos turned out and to be honest, I cannot pick out just one because all of them quickly became my favorites. And it turned out that they had the same issue because they refused to give me their favorite single image too!

The Big day is here!

With the same theme as important places to a couple, Jon and Mariah said that they were getting married at Homestead Lake.

If any of you know, a Nebraska wedding in February is not very common, planning an outdoor ceremony is very much the same. You never know what to expect, especially when the week before their wedding date was beautiful, not a ton of wind- then 2 days before we get the cold come in. Then on Sunday the weather was much warmer. Of course it will happen.

PS, this Nebraska Wedding Photographer did not suffer any frost bite, but gosh my toes got cold.

First Look, first holds, first moments before the wedding.

Homestead Lake, located between the towns of Bruno and Abie in Butler County

Even in the cold...

How can you pass up a look like this? How beautiful is this?- Homestead Lake is such a pretty backdrop for a couple of outdoor people committing their life together. I honestly don't know if I would of suggested another place for them (except maybe it being a little warmer-but we had no control over that)

A few of my favorite moments from Jon and Mariah's big day. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this couple and see how this family grows.
